Warehouse IoT – New reporting tool
After migrating to the new reporting tool, scheduled report emails, file names, and delivery formats have changed. Existing migrated schedules will continue to be delivered, but you may notice the following differences.
1. Scheduled report emails will contain links instead of attachments
After the migration, scheduled report emails will no longer include the report file as an email attachment. Instead, the email will contain a link that you can select to access the scheduled report output.
After migration, you will no longer receive scheduled reports from the old system for any base reports and migrated Private and Public reports.
If you still receive a scheduled report email with an attachment after migration, the specific report linked to that schedule was not migrated to the new reporting tool.
In this case, you will need to recreate the schedule in the new system if you want to continue receiving that report. Use the relevant base report and apply any required column, date, or filter settings.
2. All migrated scheduled report file names will change
Before the migration, the file name used in a scheduled report email was based on the name of the custom report.
After the migration, the file name is based on the base report name instead. This is expected behavior in the new reporting tool and is not a configurable setting.
The report content will remain as consistent as possible. If you need additional fields, contact the Powerfleet support team.
3. Migrated schedules will be delivered in a zipped format
In the new reporting tool, a report can contain multiple elements — for example, a chart and a table. Each chart or table is counted as a separate element. Migrated schedules that contain multiple elements are delivered as a single merged file, or as a PDF if the original report was a chart.
You can open the schedule in the new reporting tool and update the delivery format if you prefer to receive the scheduled report in a different format.
4. New schedules can include multiple report components
When you create a new schedule in the new reporting tool, you can choose to include different components from a report. You can also select the desired output format, depending on what you want to receive.
If all selected components use the same format, the scheduled report will be delivered as one merged file. For example, multiple Excel components will be combined into one Excel file.
If the selected components use different formats, such as CSV, Excel, and PDF, the scheduled report will be delivered as a zipped file containing the individual outputs.
Quick reference summary
| Change | What you need to know |
|---|---|
| Email delivery | Scheduled report emails now contain a link instead of an attachment. |
| Emails still received with attachments | This indicates the report was not migrated. The report and schedule must be recreated in the new system if you want to continue receiving it. These will cease to exist on 31 August 2026. |
| File naming | The file name is now based on the base workbook name instead of the custom report name. |
| Migrated schedules | Migrated schedules are delivered in a merged format and may be delivered as PDF if the previous report was a chart. |
| New schedules | You can choose multiple report components and select the required format where available. |
| Same formats selected | The output is delivered as one merged file. |
| Different formats selected | The output is delivered as a zipped file containing the separate report files. |
Edge Cases:
Where multiple custom reports existed with the same name, only the most recently created report will be visible after migration.
Known Issues:
The schedule Subject is currently displayed as the Job Name in the schedule list modal. This is a known issue and is scheduled to be resolved in an upcoming release.
