Understanding Input Controls
This article explains each input control available when generating reports, using the Usage Detail Report as an example. While the same core logic applies across most reports, the specific filters and options available may vary depending on the report you're using.

Choose the Report Period
Select the period you want data returned for. If you choose Week of Current Year, Month of Current Year or Current Year, use the Week/Month/Year field to select the exact period.
Custom Date Selection
Select a defined start and end date. This is also best suited to ad hoc reporting. If it is used in a scheduled report, the same date range and data set will be returned each time.
Follow the steps below to access input controls for a report:
-
Log in to Unity Warehouse IoT
-
From the Navigation Panel at the top, click the Reporting module
-
Click the desired Report name
- To access additional report parameters, click the Input Controls button
- Select the date range for the report
The Report Selector combines the six Usage Detail report variations that were previously available as separate reports. Select the required variation using the radio buttons. Each option keeps the familiar base configuration while allowing you to adjust the filters and columns.

Best practices
· Use relative date periods for scheduled reports so the reporting window moves forward automatically.
· Use fixed week, month, year and custom date ranges for ad hoc analysis.
· Start with the predefined report variation, then adjust Group By and Detail Column Selector only where needed.
· Leave a filter blank when you want all available values included.
· Review the report output after changing grouping or detail columns to confirm the layout meets your needs.
